THE FOX AND THE CROW

TITTLE: The Fox and The Crow
AUTHOR:  Aesop
TYPE OF WORK/GENRE: short story
Context of the work:  This is a collection of tales from the Greek story teller, Aesop. Aesop was a slave in ancient Greece. He was a keen observer of both animals and people. Most of the characters in his stories are animals, some of which take on human characteristic and are personified in ways of speech and emotions. However, the majority of his character retain their animalistic qualities; tortoise are slow, hares are quick, tigers eat bird, etc. Aesop uses these qualities and natural tendencies of animals to focus on human traits and wisdom. Each fable has an accompanying moral to be learned from the tale.
Summary: in this short story the summary of this is the crow went to the branch of tree with a cheese on his mouth then the fox saw the crow he wanted to get the cheese to the crow so he find a way to get that cheese from the crow and tell to the crow a bad story that why he need some very nice song so when the crow start to sing the piece of cheese go down and the fox get it.
our analysis of the story/drama/poem/essay: for this very short story have a very very want to point to us, 1st in the story the fox think to get the cheese not in a good way that’s kind of sin when we think to do its sin already, and when the fox do the action is a sin also and he lie also to the crow, and I think the author always compare the attitude of people to the animal because it’s the same I think.
Give your personal opinion about the piece:  for me this story is all about the liars in the world and people who gets the benefits from other people and we always think that when we get some good benefits from our friends we should always think that, that people or person is god also, and be fair to all people when we do that we also fair to god J

THREE FRIENDS

TITTLE: Three Friends
AUTHOR: Yoruba
TYPE OF WORK/GENRE: Poem
Context of the work:  The Yoruba are one of the largest African ethnic groups south of the Sahara Desert. They are, in fact, not a single group, but rather a collection of diverse people bound together by a common language, history, and culture. Within Nigeria, the Yoruba dominate the western part of the country. Yoruba mythology holds that all Yoruba people descended from a hero called Odua or Oduduwa. Today there are over fifty individuals who claim kingship as descendants of Odua.
Summary: this poem is all about friends, one of his friend ask me to sleep on his map, other say sleep on his ground and ask him to sleep on his breast but he choose to sleep on his friend breast and he saw the king of the river and king of the sun because they believe in there tradition that god before went down to create the earth but  the one who create the earth was slept also because when he go down to the earth they have party so some of them offer the wine and he fall asleep. Then Chameleon got all materials and went to the edge of the heaven then he throw the chain and climb down.
our analysis of the story/drama/poem/essay: According to a Yoruba creation myth, the deities (gods) originally lived in the sky with only water below them. Olorun, the Sky God, gave to Orishala, the God of Whiteness, a chain, a bit of earth in a snail shell, and a five-toed chicken. He told Orishala to go down and create the earth. Orishala approached the gate of heaven. He saw some deities having a party and he stopped to greet them. They offered him palm wine and he drank too much and fell asleep. Odua, his younger brother, saw Orishala sleeping. He took the materials and went to the edge of heaven, accompanied by Chameleon. He let down the chain and they climbed down it. Odua threw the piece of earth on the water and placed the five-toed chicken upon it. The chicken began to scratch the earth, spreading it in all directions. After Chameleon had tested the firmness of the earth, Odua stepped down. A sacred grove is there today.

Give your personal opinion about the piece:  for me as they said we have own opinion about our god own beliefs but all are correct we only praise only one god but there’s a lot of stories about our creator but when we try to think about this all story at the end is the same happen, so for me as long as we have fait to our god there nothing wrong with it. ON HIS BLINDNESS

TITTLE: ON HIS BLINDNESS
AUTHOR: John Milton
TYPE OF WORK/GENRE: Poetry
Context of the work:  John Milton was born on December 9, 1608, in London, as the second child of John and Sara (neĆ© Jeffrey). In the spring of 1642, Milton married Mary Powell, 17 years old to his 34, but the relationship was an unhappy one, and Mary left him to visit the family home briefly thereafter, and did not return.  Matters were not improved when the Powells declared for the King in the Civil War which broke out in August. Milton had made plans to remarry, when Mary Powell returned.  The two seem to have reconciled, since their daughter Anne was born in 1646.  The whole Powell clan moved in with the Miltons, because Royalists had been ousted from Oxford.  The situation was not savory. The year 1647 saw the death of both Milton's father and his father-in-law.  The Powells eventually moved out and the Miltons moved to the neighborhood of High Holborn, where their daughter Mary was born in 1648. The year 1652 was one of many personal losses for Milton. In February, Milton lost his sight. This prompted him to write the sonnet "When I Consider How My Light is Spent."  In May, 1652, Mary gave birth to a daughter, Deborah, and died a few days later. In June, one year-old John died. In 1663, Milton remarried again, to Elizabeth Minshull, a match his daughters opposed. He spent his time tutoring students and finishing his life's work, the epic, Paradise Lost.  Among the greatest works ever to be written in English, the feat is all the more remarkable for Milton's blindness — he would compose verse upon verse at night in his head and then dictate them from memory to his aides in the morning.
Summary: this poem his all about the life of Milton, when I read his story he have a lot of straggle in his life and very very sad story but he is remain on his feet going to fight and he never give up and everything is godly under His disposal...so better to wait...and I like these lines
' And that one talent which is death to hide
Lodg'd with me useless, though my soul more bent
To serve therewith my Maker, and present
My true account, lest he returning chide, '...excellent
our analysis of the story/drama/poem/essay: A profound poem on his blindness. It shows his complaint, but also the way out; to serve God the best he can with his disability, and to wait on God's timing. This beautiful poem demonstrates his faith. and shows how that faith gives him purpose and light, even in his darkness. Deep words on the state of mortal man and GOD. PURPOSE, in life seems to be Milton's contemplations. What is man's purpose before GOD? From talents to stoic mortals waiting, upon purpose before GOD.
Give your personal opinion about the piece:  well for me my own reaction on this poem was very amaze and im proud of him because of his faith in God never lose and still there even he have a lot of problem in his life but he never give up instead he fight for it and going on, on his life. J

And he never afraid to his life even this all things happen to him and he survive to his life and he died at 53 years old.
our analysis of the story/drama/poem/essay: For me this poem is a good one about the people who ask god why this problem happen to them, and the best part of this poem for me is 4th stanza,” It matters not how strait the gate,How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.” This is mean that how problem gods do to you, you need to be ready always and do it not to complain to god, we are the master of this body but we are not the owner of this body.

Give your personal opinion about the piece:  my own opinion to this poem is that what ever problem you have in your life right now there a solution always because theres no problem without solution, and what ever we suffered we always need to think that god is always here to our side and be strong to our life and never afraid J

Your analysis of the story/drama/poem/essay:    for me the 1st stanza there say that don’t love me friend like your shadow because shadow’s fades at evening it means if you have a good friendship with someone dont be friend to him or her because you get sometimes from them, because friendship where ever you go your friend are still there never back fight you and they will support you to make you happy, and the 3rd stanza say that Do not love me like a pillow One would meet in sleep And not see each other During the day the point here that if you friend want you only to see if you need them if you don’t have problem you don’t want to be with them because friendship is all season you will be together what ever happen sad or happiest you both face it, the last is Love me like a dream For dreams are your life In the night And my hope in the day.
